Concept Design 概念/娱乐设计

Concept design aims to establish the artistic style of a game or film and serves as a foundation for subsequent production. Concept artists must accurately convey their design ideas based on game development needs, focusing on atmosphere, world-building, and overarching aesthetics rather than intricate details. This process often involves extensive research, iterations, and revisions until the final design aligns with the creative vision of the entire production team. Strong artistic experience and a deep understanding of life are essential for concept artists to excel in this field.

As a relatively new discipline, concept design has evolved from illustration and demands a high level of drawing proficiency. Many graduates enter the game and film industries, designing environments, characters, and vehicles. In recent years, the field has gained increasing recognition, partly due to high employment rates. The demand for skilled concept artists continues to grow, as every new game and film production requires fresh visual storytelling and world-building expertise.


概念设计的最终目的是要确定一款游戏或者电影的美术风格,并为后期的游戏美术制作提供依据。原画师要能根据游戏策划的游戏需求,把自己的设计想法清晰、准确的表达出来。这类概念设计往往不拘泥细节,着重表现游戏的氛围、世界观等宏观因素。游戏概念设计工作往往需要大量的资料寻找和返工修改,直到画出整个制作团队满意的作品,作为美术风格方向的旗帜。这一工作内容需要原画设计师有着丰富的工作经验和生活积累。

概念设计是一门非常新的专业。它是从插画设计延伸过来的一门专业,所以它对绘画技巧的要求也是非常高. 很多毕业的学生都会在游戏电影公司工作, 为他们设计场景、人物以及不同的运输工具 等等。近年来这门专业也开始慢慢的被大家认识,知名度也越来越高。其中的原因还有就是它的就业率也非常的高。目前市场上优秀的概念设计师数量不多,而市场的需求量却很大。只要有新的游戏和电影出现,就会不断需求概念设计师的涌现。
